Wake Train
Overview
The "Wake Train" project focuses on enhancing the experience of train passengers who might unintentionally miss their stop due to napping. This concept aims to provide a solution that helps passengers wake up just before their station arrives.
To practice for a whiteboard UX design exercise, the goal is to emphasize problem-solving skills and organize the thought process effectively. The project will include illustrating ideas through sketches and wireframes, leading to a comprehensive UX design case study for my portfolio. This case study will involve user research to validate hypotheses, along with the presentation of high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
The Problem(s)
During the development of this website, I encountered several challenges:
Understanding User Needs. Identifying the needs and pain points of train passengers who might fall asleep during their journey required thorough user research.
Designing an Intuitive Interface. Creating an easy-to-navigate interface for users to manually input their code to find out the train’s destination and stops was crucial, especially for those who may not be tech-savvy.
User Journey Complexity. Mapping out the user journey, from entering the code to receiving information about stops and arrival times, presented challenges in maintaining clarity and simplicity.
Incorporating Notifications. Designing an effective notification system that alerts users just before their stop without being intrusive required careful consideration.
Iterating on Feedback. Gathering feedback on wireframes and prototypes from users and stakeholders while iterating on designs posed a challenge in ensuring continuous improvement.
